Typical materials: AA 6063 and other  aluminum grades

AA 6063, also known as an architectural alloy, is widely used for complex extrusions. It is the most commonly used aluminum alloy due to its excellent corrosion resistance, weldability, and ability to be easily anodized for a superior surface finish.

Benefits of anodizing Aluminum:

  • Enhances corrosion resistance
  • Improves adhesion for coatings and lubricants

AA 6063 is mostly used in:

  • Enclosures
  • Window frames
  • Extrusions
  • Fittings
  • Doors
  • Irrigation

Material composition:

  • 0.6% Silicon
  • 0.9% Magnesium
  • 0.35% Iron
  • 0.10% Copper
  • 0.10% Manganese
  • 0.10% Chromium
  • 0.10% Zinc
  • 0.10% Titanium
  • Remainder Aluminum

Tensile strength: 145 to 186 Mpa (21 to 27 ksi)

Melting temperature: 615℃ (1,139 ℉)

Common MOQ: 100 to 10,000 pcs

Common or standardized parts generally have higher MOQ. Most Chinese manufacturers are flexible about MOQs but buyers are advised to be reasonable about the numbers.

Manufacturing methods: Extrusion and stamping

Anodized aluminum provides a durable, decorative, and corrosion-resistant aluminum oxide finish. Our manufacturers use AA 6063 for intricate extrusions. Extrusions help create complex cross-sections with an excellent surface finish. It also enhances the metal’s strength.

Our manufacturers in China, Vietnam or India can produce components to your exact specifications with a focus on precision. All parts come with a 125 micro finish, with higher finishes available upon request.

Manufacturing cluster area in China: Ningbo

Ningbo, a key port city in Zhejiang province of East China, has long been a hub for traditional manufacturing industries like textiles, auto parts, chemicals, plastics, home electric appliances, stationery, and rubber. In recent years, it has embraced automation and digitalization, with 7,000 enterprises adopting smart manufacturing and 60 research institutes advancing AI and industrial innovation.

Application: Aesthetics, construction, vertical farming systems, and modular storage systems

Anodized aluminum extrusions are widely used across various industries. This manufacturing method produces attractive, highly durable enclosures, roofs, exteriors, ceilings, curtain walls, and floors. Commercial buildings worldwide incorporate aluminum in staircases, lobbies, and elevators. Due to their strength and lightweight properties, aluminum extrusions are extensively used in construction and architecture to support high loads efficiently.

Common issues: Dimensional control, surface finish, and color

Our manufacturers in China, Vietnam, and India implement rigorous in-process quality checks to ensure products are manufactured precisely to your specifications. This includes ensuring accurate dimensions, using high-quality materials, and delivering smooth, polished surfaces free of edges or burrs.

Quality control

Finished products undergo a visual inspection to ensure they meet quality standards. They also undergo CMM inspection to verify the accuracy of the manufactured components.
