We help buyers in North America and Europe manufacture and source products from China at great prices. Utilize our comprehensive sourcing services to find reliable manufacturers specializing in plastic boxes. We ensure that the Chinese manufacturers understand your requirements and that products are made exactly as per your specifications. We work closely with the factories so that products are delivered on time and meet your quality expectations.

Typical materials: ABS plastic, PP, nylon

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a type of thermoplastic. The term ‘thermoplastic’ generally refers to the way a material reacts to heat. Thermoplastics may be heated until they liquefy, then cooled, and reheated again without degradation.

ABS plastic is made by polymerizing acrylonitrile and styrene in the presence of polybutadiene. The polybutadiene gives toughness to the plastic, while the styrene gives it a shiny, impervious surface.

The advantages of using ABS plastic to make boxes are:

  • Strong heat resistance
  • Strong impact resistance
  • High shock absorbance
  • High tensile strength
  • Scratch-resistant
  • Weather-proof
  • Recyclable

ABS plastic can also be very easily machined, glued, sanded, or painted. Hence, boxes made of ABS plastic can be designed exactly as per the customer’s specifications.

Chemical Formula: (C8H8·C4H6·C3H3N)n

Tensile strength: 46 MPa (6600 PSI)

Typical Injection Molding Temperature: 204 to 238 ℃ (400 to 460 ℉)

Polypropylene (PP) is another commonly used thermoplastic polymer. Being resistant to fatigue PP is widely used in making plastic hinges, flip-top bottles, and piping systems. It has a high resistance to heat which is why most equipment in laboratories is made of PP. It is also extensively used in making plastic containers as they can be easily molded in any shape and size.

Common MOQ: 50 to 10,000 pcs

MOQ may be negotiated, but buyers are advised to be reasonable with their numbers. Generally, products with common or standardized parts have higher MOQ.

Manufacturing methods: Plastic injection, vacuum forming, rotational molding

Injection molding pours liquid plastic into a mold, where it is mixed with other materials like colorants and lubricants. The plastic is allowed to cool and harden to form boxes in your desired shape and size.

Vacuum forming is a great way to shape thermoplastics. Manufacturers heat the plastic to forming temperature and then stretch it into the mold. The plastic is then forced against the mold by a vacuum to create different designs.

Rotational molding uses a hollow mold filled with powdered plastic. The mold is transferred into an oven and rotated bi-axially. It is rotated until all the plastic melts and coats the sides of the mold. The mold is then allowed to cool to shape the plastic into the desired shape and size.

Manufacturing cluster area: Ningbo and Shanghai

Ningbo is an important industrial city in the Zhejiang province of China. The major industries in Ningbo are textiles, garments, home electric appliances, stationery, plastic machines, auto parts, and high-end mold. The city is one of the major producers of home electric appliances in China. Nearly half of all the plastic machines in the world are produced in this city.

Shanghai is the commercial capital of mainland China. It is well known for its finance, trade, and shipping industries, and is home to the world’s largest port by cargo throughput. Manufacturing, electronic information products, automobiles, petrochemicals, fine steel, equipment, and bio-medicine are important industries in Shanghai.

Application: Electronics, powers systems, kitchenware, white goods, and automotive

Plastic sunken enclosure are mainly used for electronics, toys, white goods, and in the automotive industry.

Common Issues: Dimensions, surface finish, structural integrity, color

Chinese manufacturers use in-process quality checks to monitor the quality and finish of the plastic housings, ensuring there is no deviation from global quality standards.

Quality Control

  • Manual/visual inspection of the finished product, compared with a known good product.
  • CMM inspection to ensure that the product meets the client’s specifications.
