Typical materials: A216 and various grades of steel

Steel is an alloy made of iron and some parts of carbon. Carbon steel is a carbon-iron alloy that may contain carbon content between 0.05% to up to 2.1% by weight.

A216 is a grade of carbon steel. Besides carbon and iron, it may also contain minute amounts of cobalt, chromium, molybdenum, niobium, nickel, manganese, copper, and silicon.

  • Carbon steel has high machinability and is commonly used in buildings, bridges, gears, axles, pipelines and couplings, cars, refrigerators, and washing machines.
  • Higher tensile strength makes it ideal to be used in making blades, cutting tools, dies, springs, and high-strength wires.
  • Carbon steel can be shaped in various forms and sizes due to their higher malleability.
  • It is also very durable and long-lasting.

Material composition:

  • 0.30 % carbon
  • 1% manganese
  • 0.035% sulfur
  • 0.6% silicon
  • 0.3% copper
  • 0.5% nickel
  • 0.5% chromium
  • 0.3% molybdenum
  • 0.03% molybdenum

Maximum use temperature: 425℃ (797℉)

Tensile strength: 655 Mpa (95 ksi)

Common MOQ: 10 to 10,000 pcs

For common or standardized parts, the minimum order quantity is generally higher. Buyers are advised to be reasonable with their numbers even though MOQs are negotiable.

Manufacturing methods: Casting and machining

  • The mold casting method is used in the production of the valves
  • Once the component is completed, it is machined to meet the client’s exact specifications
  • Precise components and intricate parts
  • Accurate and smooth surfaces

Manufacturing cluster area: Shanghai

Shanghai in east-central China is a major commercial and industrial center. It is also one of the largest seaports in the world. The city is called the commercial capital of China.

Due to the availability of a large, high-skilled, technologically advanced workforce, Shanghai has become one of the leading industrial and manufacturing hubs in China. The iron and steel industry in Shanghai is one of the oldest in China. The city is also very well known for its machine and machine tool industry.

Other important industries are electronic information products, automobiles, petrochemicals, fine steel, equipment, and bio-medicine.

Shanghai is the hub of international trade and finance in China. It is home to the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shanghai free-trade zone, the first of its kind in China. It is well known for its finance, trade, and shipping industries, including the world’s largest port by cargo throughput.

Application: Heating and hydraulics

Carbon steel valves have excellent mechanical properties. They are also highly resistant to sulfides and stress corrosion. Steel valves are known for their toughness, which is why they are used in hydraulic systems.

Steel valves can also withstand high heat. The industries that extensively use carbon steel valves are the power generation industry, petrochemical industry, gas industry, and the chemical industry.

Common issues: Material integrity and dimensional control

The components go through many in-process quality checks to ensure that you get the highest quality products, and your order meets your quality expectations. This includes making sure that the components are made to your exact specifications.

Quality Control

  • CMM inspection to test the accuracy of the manufactured components
  • Test jigs and fixtures to replicate manufactured products with consistent quality
